Allana Goldsmith is a rare gem. The kind of artist one hears for the first time and is immediately captivated. At the age of 19 Allana was taken under the wing of some of the great jazz musicians of New Zealand. This is learning the old school way, around the jam sessions, not from a book or sitting in a classroom, but with mentors, handing down their wisdom over a long period of time.

This concert will be paying tribute to Sarah Vaughan. "I am a big Sarah fan! Her silky smooth voice and vocal ability just astounds me every time i listen to her."

The band will be Dave Fisher (guitar), Jo Shum (bass), and Jason Orme. ''As a band, we've been studying some of our favourite songs that Sarah sang". And of course not forgetting some other signature standards. We hope to share a night of music that is familiar to the ear, and warm to the heart."
