The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

Owing to the reduction to Level 2 Covid-19 restrictions, we are able to open again as from 29 September.

We hate turning people away, but I'm sure you'll understand that we must adhere to the government requirements with a maximum of 100 being permitted. Social distancing required along with good hygiene standards.

"Jazz in the 21st Century"

Mat Fieldes has spent 25 years based in New York and touring the world, playing and recording with such legends as Ornette Coleman and Joe Zawinul, Jay Z and the Gorillaz and contemporary 'crossover' group Absolute Ensemble. He has played on 4 Grammy nominated albums including one win with English rocker Joe Jackson. The 'Committee' brings together some of the most in demand musicians in New Zealand, bringing their different influences and compositions to cover styles from more traditional Jazz to the contemporary music of today.
