We welcome Vozneuva back to the club to start the year. The band was founded in 1987, as VozNueva (Spanish for New Voice), then VoxNova for a while specialising in Jazz Manouche, the band has recently returned to its founding roots as performing vintage and contemporary Latin and Gitanos (Spanish Gypsy). Their current residency is at the Caretaker Bar, Britomart.
The Music is inspired mainly by the Nuevo Flamenco style created by Paco De Lucia, informed by jazz in cooperation with Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin as captured in the seminal album Friday Night Rumba in San Francisco. The report also includes influences from: Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, Columbia and Chile & Russian Gypsy.
