Welcome to the home of jazz in Auckland

($15 AJBC members & RSA members. $25 non-members - cash only - includes raffle draw for bottle of wine.)

Optional $2 raffle - $60 cash prize. (supports young jazz students)

Restaurant (downstairs) open 5 - 8.30pm. Full bar service.


The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

AUCKLAND JAZZ ORCHESTRA 

The Auckland Jazz Orchestra's mission is to perform new and original contemporary big band jazz, written or arranged by musicians from Aotearoa New Zealand. Since its inception in 2009, the band has drawn on a rich vein of talented musicians, young and old, led by trumpeter & arranger Mike Booth. 

They have released 5 albums of new music, and presented concerts at Auckland Arts Festival, Wellington Jazz Festival, Tauranga Jazz Festival and venues around the North Island. They always look forward to the warm reception they receive at Auckland Jazz & Blues Club. 

 For this special programme, they will preview some brand new arrangements from their next project, currently recording new arrangements of tunes by "local hero" musicians from Tamaki Makaurau, alongside some band favourites from their large and ever-growing catalogue.
