The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

Stefan cut his teeth in performing and recording a CD with the
European Masterclass Big Band, under the leadership of Peter Herbolzheimer. 
Various tours, CD recordings as well as TV productions with the German Youth Jazz Orchestra, "the Bujazzo“ for the WDR (West German broadcasting company) followed. 
Winner of several awards and scholarships.
Stefan has performed at various clubs and festivals throughout Europe: Germany, France, Luxemburg, Poland, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands and the UK. 
In 2007, Stefan first stepped into New Zealands music scene, joining old hands Sid and Freddy Limbert (The Remarkable Beatroosters, Midge Marsden Band, The Warratahs, The Handsome Giants) for a performance at Le Café Picton. For the past three years, he performed with several national and international Bands and musicians at various NZ festivals and club gigs up and down the country. (Waiheke Island International Jazz Festival, Titirangi Music Festival, Christchurch Jazz and Blues Festival )
