The club was formed around 1992 to further the interests of jazz & blues music in Auckland.

The club has a membership of around 250 and has regular club nights every Tuesday evening at the Birkenhead RSA.

Concerts start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break at half time. Meals are available before the concert. Full bar service.

Ample off-street parking. Come early to secure your seating.

Each night features a different local or out of town band.. Sometimes an International star makes an appearance.

Havana Groove is an Auckland-based Latin quartet featuring a male and female vocalist.

Two great vocalists lead the band. Ale commands attention with her infectious personality and energy and in balance Marcelo’s vocal brings musical warmth and sophistication.

Marcelo, also on congas and percussion, is joined by bass player Richard, maestro Mark Baynes on piano, and accomplished trumpeter Mike Booth.

Havana Groove is Mambo, Cha Cha, Son and Bolero. Their authentically Afro-Cuban vibe never fails to draw a crowd and their salsa will get toes tapping. Go check them out, you won’t regret it.

Marcelo Valencia (Congas and vocals)
Ale Held (vocals and maracas)

We bring the passion of Cuban music with its Afro roots, playing from Boleros, to Cuban Son- Cha Cha Cha- Salsa and beyond.
